CNN Portugal's Pitch Brand&Content dedicates a special report to the Heróis PME Awards gala

The 8th edition of the Heróis PME Awards gala has made it to television. CNN Portugal's Pitch Brand&Content aired a special report bringing together the best moments of the evening of 26 June, in Leiria. Jelly, the initiative's official agency, was on stage and is now on the small screen too.

The special report from CNN Portugal's Pitch programme on the 8th edition of the Heróis PME Awards is now available. The initiative, run by Yunit Consulting, recognises Portuguese companies for their ability to overcome adversity, and for their resilience, growth and innovation.

The ceremony took place at Mercado de Sant'Ana, in Leiria, opening with an address by Gonçalo Lopes, Mayor of Leiria, and brought together business owners, partners and public bodies around a common goal: giving visibility to those who make the economy happen every single day.

What the report shows

The CNN Portugal piece captures the essence of the evening and is built around three themes.

The backbone of the economy. In an interview conducted by Pedro Santos Guerreiro with Gonçalo Regalado, CEO of Banco Português de Fomento, the event underlined how vital SMEs are. They account for 99% of the country's business landscape and are the real driving force behind innovation, job creation and the growth of the Portuguese economy.

Resilience and innovation. The report celebrates the boldness of those who take risks: the constant drive to do things differently, the search for distinctive offerings, and the remarkable ability of Portuguese companies to rebuild and adapt in the face of challenges.

The awards ceremony. The high point of the evening, with the initiative's partners taking to the stage to hand the trophies to the winners in the five competing categories. You can find out who won the 8th edition in our article about the gala.

As official agency and sponsor of the Heróis PME Awards, Jelly experienced this gala from the inside. Gonçalo Malho Rodrigues, Founder & CEO of Jelly, took part in the round table moderated by Pedro Santos Guerreiro, alongside Gonçalo Regalado (Banco Português de Fomento) and Mário Rodrigues (EST), and went on stage to present the Micro Business category award to Quintinha d'Aldeia.
