That's the line we sign off every strategy we build for our clients with.
Today, though, it's about our own.
At 11 years old, JELLY is one of the reference Agencies in Portugal.
Our journey has been made up of plenty of challenges, opportunities and people. Talented, generous people — team, clients and partners — with whom it has been a privilege to get this far, and with whom we are now heading to the next level.
And “next level” means Jelly in the top 10 agencies in Portugal within the next 5 years.
The next level >
For that to happen, we need to drive change and surround ourselves with the best. So it is with huge enthusiasm and confidence in the future that I can announce that moment has arrived… That change is already under way, and it starts with Nuno Baptista Marques (Investor & Board Member) and Paulo Cleto Duarte (Investor & Senior Advisor) joining the JELLY board.
My new partners, with whom I have the great pleasure of sharing JELLY's future, are businessmen with more than 20 years of success in senior management and governance.
The mix of each of our areas of expertise, bound together by the human qualities we admire in one another, fits together in a unique way and makes for an outstanding management team. Why a new management team?
A business that stays in the hands of one person for too long risks stagnating. My vision for developing Jelly involves professionalising its management, with skills that complement my own.
Often, the hard part isn't having a good idea or knowing where you want to go. It's being lucky enough to find the right people to walk that road with you.
I know Nuno and Paulo are those people, and they will help bring the needs of tomorrow's companies into Jelly/Scallent's culture, attitude and way of thinking. An omnichannel vision in which the physical and digital worlds will have to coexist, and where integrated Marketing solutions will make the difference in people's lives.
Who are the investors?
Nuno Baptista Marques holds an MBA from AESE and is a successful businessman across several sectors, particularly healthcare and pharmacies.
Paulo Cleto Duarte holds an MBA from Universidade Católica and an AMP from IMD Business School in Switzerland. He has held leadership positions at various healthcare companies and is currently Executive Board Member at UNILABS. What other changes are on the horizon?
There is a structural change, driven by something typical of Marketing Agencies, whether small or large: teams saturated with too many clients. Growing the business by winning new clients is everything an Agency wants. But when operations are built on traditional models, you run the risk of overloading your talent. And an overloaded team of talented people loses focus, loses the attention it should be giving the client, loses creative capacity, and with it the quality of the final product and, consequently, the Agency's reputation.
At Jelly, we already had the solution in-house to resolve this paradigm, but it took courage not only to change, but also to commit to the new model.
In 2021 we decided to test this new organisational and operational model with a small sample of clients and, depending on the results, roll it out across the whole portfolio. It didn't take long to see significant improvements in our team's productivity and wellbeing, as well as in our clients' satisfaction. So it was quickly extended to every client on our books.
What is this model?
It's a curation and leadership model that gives the Agency scalability, agility and productivity.
Backed by our subsidiary Scallent, we have a pool of more than 2,000 agency talents with skills in marketing, copywriting, branding, design, tech, video and more, and they make up our workforce. Under strong leadership from the central Jelly team, we never overload our people and we deliver a good experience to every client. And at the end of the day: happy client, happy people.
Welcome aboard — let's get to it
